The Rookie is a movie about Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid) who is a high school science teacher in Texas. His true love is baseball and while he coaches his high schools team he discovers that dreams can come true no matter how out of reach they seem because of one simple bet he made with his players. If his players won the championship he agreed to finally pursue his dreams of becoming a professional baseball player by attending a local tryout for Major League Baseball. What makes this story more interesting is that Jim Morris is not a young guy fresh out of college; he is in fact 39 years old with a wife and kids.
