The Rookie is a movie about Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid) who is a high school science teacher in Texas. His true love is baseball and while he coaches his high schools team he discovers that dreams can come true no matter how out of reach they seem because of one simple bet he made with his players. If his players won the championship he agreed to finally pursue his dreams of becoming a professional baseball player by attending a local tryout for Major League Baseball. What makes this story more interesting is that Jim Morris is not a young guy fresh out of college; he is in fact 39 years old with a wife and kids. The reason why this movie should be watched by all people is because of the relationship between father and son, it makes you feel good, dreams really can come true, and it is not predictable.

In the end, this movie really makes you feel good and leaves you with a smile on your face. The movie does a great job setting you up with enough background information on Jim as he grows up so you can understand what some of his decisions are based on. His high school team goes from being slaughtered every game to working hard and becoming district champions, all because they set a bigger goal.

This movie proves that dreams can come true, no matter what age you are or how long you have put aside what you really want in life. It is never too late to pursue what makes you come alive. It proves that with a strong supporting cast and the love from others you can have the courage to pursue the impossible.

Great Plot Line
Most movies that we encounter have us guessing the whole time what we know is going to happen in the end. In this movie, The Rookie, the audience is left with a lot of unknowns which makes the movie even better to watch. You don't know what is going to happen with his high school baseball team and you don't know if he will make it to the majors. Once you think he is going to make it to the majors more obstacles get in Jim Morris's way.
A Must Watch
Thus, The Rookie is a good movie because it makes you feel good and leaves you feeling inspired. It proves to the naysayer that dreams can come true if you continue to work at them. The relationship Jim Morris has with his son is of one to admire. The way Hunter's eyes light up when his Dad is playing baseball is one of the purest emotions you will ever see.
I think having the baseball in the background of the blog was a nice touch. I also like the green because it makes me think of outdoorsy things and it fits with the baseball theme. I think the pictures worked well as you were progressing through the review. The hyperlinks were good, too. I've never actually heard of this movie so I'm not sure if you're giving too much away or not, but if you're stating that the movie is inspirational and that "dreams come true," does that mean that he does end up being a major league baseball player? And is that giving away too much of the ending? Like I said, I've never seen it, so if there are more important details that you didn't explain, then it looks pretty good. I think the language was informal to a good degree, too.
